Dior is turning Harrods into a gigantic, fashionable gingerbread house for Christmas

Harrods’ Christmas window displays are legendary, but for the 2022 holiday season, the iconic department store has really outdone itself by transforming into a gigantic, super-chic gingerbread house courtesy of Dior. Yes really.

Unveiled on Thursday, ‘The Fabulous World of Dior’ is Harrods’ biggest ever brand takeover, encompassing all 44 storefronts (for the first time in history), facade, lighting, two pop-ups , an exhibition and a cafe – which will remain gloriously in situ until January 3, 2023.

Think a gigantic 17-meter shepherd’s star sculpture, gingerbread-themed displays, warm brown and caramel-hued interiors, and Dior-ified cookies absolutely everywhere, in edible and inedible. Plus some great exclusive items to add to your Christmas list, of course.

A must for aesthetes and gourmets alike, the new Le Café Dior is sure to become a hotspot for influencers with its canvas of Jouy-covered interiors, breakfasts to die for, and cookies that have been fashionably treated (and as good as they look).

But the jewel in Dior’s ever-sparkling crown has to be the display. Free visit and located under the Dior accessories section (you can reserve your time slot online here), visitors are taken on a magical and immersive journey into the world of Monsieur Christian Dior through complex installations at 30 avenue Montaigne, his childhood home in Granville and his mansion, La Colle Noire.
