The Incredible Cold and Freezing Sport Called Ice Fishing

I’ll be the first to admit that to me this is the craziest show ever. “What the hell are you doing in the middle of the ice sitting in a little little house in the middle of winter?” was my thought process. Yes, I understand it’s a tradition, and certainly quite common here in North Dakota, and I’m not one to hijack someone’s passion. However, I came across a video that has gone viral and hopefully this is NOT the start of a whole new sport.

Lake of the Woods, Minnesota

Ice House Olympics 2022 maybe? No, this is an amazing video of a fishing guide just doing his job. According to fox9.com “Over the weekend, Eric Best, a Lake of the Woods fishing guide shared a jaw-dropping video that has since gone viral showing him with a co-worker driving down an ice road flooded, towing a cooler” Apparently an “extended delay for coolers” is causing near disaster for guides like Eric.

Let’s see, would you recommend other less experienced people to do what you do?

His response made perfect sense “Ice is never 100% safe, so I wouldn’t advise anyone to go out alone while driving on a flooded ice road…” fox9.com reported. He also clarified that he and other guides travel these routes all the time. Watch this video for yourself and tell me if it freaked you out:
