After a successful run in Paris, Small is Beautiful: Miniature Art Exhibition arrives in South Kensington and showcases tiny art and photographic works by over 30 international artists.

A deliciously quirky and playful exhibition, visitors can immerse themselves in quirky universes created by some of the leading artists of the miniature art movement, stemming from social networks.

While it might sound incredibly Gen-Z, thumbnail art has been around long before Instagram dates back to prehistoric times. Her influence can be seen in dolls and model making, and this exhibition is the first of its kind to land in London.

Highlights of the exhibition, which is suitable for all ages, include Bosnian artist Jasenko Dordevic’s sculpture of a mother and daughter small enough to fit on the tip of a pencil, and works by Ana Sofia Casaverde, a paper artist and miniature painter from Peru.

London photographer Slinkachu presents his “Miniature Street Art” in which he uses everyday objects to recreate miniature real-life situations, including an installation of a snake attacking a little girl and her mother with a green shoelace in a puddle of water.

As part of the race, there will be creative workshops for children aged 7 to 12, so that they too can create large but mini works of art.
