Some Chelsea fans were impressed with the ‘classy’ lender’s display last night

Billy Gilmour caught the endearing gaze of Chelsea supporters on social media for his performance at Norwich City last night.

Although the Canaries had their feathers ripped off by Liverpool during the EFL Cup competition, Gilmour gave everything to try and save a result.

Carrow Road has not been a happy hunting ground for the Scotsman since his transfer on loan from Stamford Bridge this summer.

His only taste of triumph in yellow and green came in the previous round of the EFL Cup, a 6-0 loss to Bournemouth.

Even then, the 20-year-old only played 19 minutes.

Yesterday’s 3-0 loss to Liverpool marked the fifth loss in Gilmour’s brief career at Norwich.

Chelsea fans, however, saw it as a sort of success as they were allowed to enjoy their strutting miniature midfielder again.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Can we have the bill, please?

This first complete victory will taste like the sweetest nectar for Gilmour.

To achieve this, he must continue to orchestrate and lead Daniel Farke’s midfielder, however strong the opposition may be.

He has already created this art while representing the Scottish national team.

During the international break, the Cobham academy graduate earned an A + for his trio of performances.

Amassing so many air miles caused Gilmour to miss the Premier League opener after the interlude, a draw against a struggling Arsenal side.

The Gunners secured a 1-0 victory, leaving Norwich even further away at the foot of the mountain.

Relegation is already rearing its ugly head, which would leave a stain on Gilmour’s CV.

It could also hurt his chances of returning to Chelsea next season.

Take Ethan Ampadu, for example.

Demoted on loan at Sheffield United, he was withdrawn from Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the current campaign.
