Mid-size iPad enthusiasts rejoice: The 11-inch iPad Pro may have a mini LED display next year.
This year’s crop of iPad Pro devices was divided on this issue, as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro received the sophisticated new display technology, while the smaller 11-inch model came out with a good , old ordinary LED screen.
But according to a new note from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors), Apple’s upcoming 11-inch iPad Pro, due to launch in 2022, will also have a mini-LED display. Kuo added that Apple plans to release a MacBook Air with a mini-LED display, also next year.

Finally, Kuo says Apple is on track to start mass production the next 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, also with mini-LED screens, in the third quarter of the year. We’ve been hearing about them for years, it will be nice to see them actually finally launched. Plus, if you count, that would all mean that by the end of next year pretty much all of Apple’s high-end laptops and tablets will be equipped with mini-LED displays.
The mini-LED display makes the difference, with its many miniature LEDs (duh) that create local dimming areas for better contrast and maximum brightness. In our review of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, we found its screen to be stunning and visibly better than that of the previous model.
