The 5th Annual Drive-Through Light Show will open in Shipshewana on November 18

Shipshewana will once again be home to over two million LED Christmas lights displayed in a symphony of over one and a half miles of various light scenes this Christmas season. Shipshewana’s Lights of Joy, a spectacular drive-in lighting experience, will celebrate opening weekend November 18-20 and then be open 7 days a week November 25-December 31 for the 2022 season. (Exception: Closed on Dec. 8, Dec. 25 and Dec. 26).

Shipshewana Trading Place and Blue Gate Hospitality have teamed up to bring the annual holiday experience to town and are excited to continue the tradition with even more lights than last year. This year’s exhibit features over a mile and a half of magical holiday scenes and special features, walk-through arches, a series of miniature exhibits featuring the night before Christmas, and many new exhibits adding to the excitement every year!

“Now in its 5th season, this has proven to be an annual tradition for many. We anticipate families will continue this new favorite Christmas tradition and are excited to once again open this fun drive-thru experience for their most great pleasure,” said Brian Lambright, Business Development Manager of Shipshewana Trading Place.

The Shipshewana Joy Lights will be set up on the grounds of Shipshewana RV Park and will cycle back and forth through dozens of exhibits. Visitors will enter the Shipshewana Flea Market grounds on SR 5 and traverse the 1.5 mile route of the Christmas Light Stages, exiting on CR 200 N.

“It’s so exciting to see families and individuals from everywhere enjoying this truly unique Shipshewana experience and we love being able to expand and improve it every year,” said Ryan Riegsecker, president of Blue Gate Hospitality. “Shipshewana continues to offer more amazing things to do, and this adds to the options available to our visitors during the Christmas season.”

The illuminated drive-thru display will be open 7 days a week from November 25 to December 31, 2022 (closed December 8, Christmas Day and December 26). The cost is only $20/vehicle; and hours of operation, when open, are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6-9pm and Friday and Saturday 6-10pm.
